Trim the Wick
Trim to 1/4 inch (6mm) before every burn. A long or curled wick causes smoking, soot and uneven flames.
First Burn Matters
Let the first burn last 1–2 hours, until the wax melts evenly to the edges. This prevents tunnelling later on.
Burn in Short Sessions
Keep each burn to 3–4 hours. Shorter, more frequent burns keep your candle's shape and scent at their best.
Mind the Draft
Keep candles away from vents, fans and open windows — drafts cause uneven melting and flickering.
Know When to Stop
Discontinue burning when 1/2 inch (12mm) of wax remains, to protect the container and avoid overheating.
Store With Care
Keep bouquets out of direct sunlight and away from heat — soy wax softens in warm rooms and cars.
Common Questions
Candle Care FAQ
Yes — each bloom has its own cotton wick and can be burned individually, just like any soy candle. Many clients choose to keep their bouquet as a display piece and only burn a bloom or two on special occasions.
Tunnelling happens when the first burn is too short, leaving a narrow well down the centre. Always allow the first burn to reach the edges of the wax — usually 1–2 hours — to create a full, even melt pool.
Keep it somewhere cool, dry and out of direct sunlight. Soy wax is soft and can warp or fade in hot cars, sunny windowsills, or near radiators.
Yes. Soy wax is a natural, renewable, biodegradable wax that burns cleaner than paraffin. All Studio Nandar candles use 100% natural soy wax and cotton wicks.
